Podcast Episode No.013 Be a giver

Welcome to The Bliss Wish the podcast designed to help you become the best version of yourself. My name is Suchitra Malvankar and I bring to you topics from personal growth, success, productivity, happiness and lifestyle.

I was listening to my favourite book called The
Power by Rhonda Bryne on Audible. Oh how much I love that book. I love listening to it over and over again, especially when I am feeling low and need to feel better. In one of her chapters, she talks about how giving is super important and without giving we shall receive nothing. If you want more you must give more. While listening to this I  realised that how its necessary to be a giver first. So I thought I should make a podcast about the same to share with you all the importance of giving.

Sometimes we often get a question like why should I give first or I have nothing to give anything at all. But the truth is that we have far more than we think we have. Our visions have become narrow. We must think with a mindset of abundance. That’s where we must correct ourselves first.

When I decided I wanted to talk about this topic I had many doubts about stopping me from taking action. This is what happens when we decide to do something with all enthusiasm and then suddenly we get demotivated by our very on doubts or from someones negative words.

Everything starts from us for getting anything we want we must put out something into the universe be it a positive thought like wishing something good for someone or for that matter even wishing something good for yourself, this is not a selfish act. Yes! wishing something good for yourself is not a selfish act. Cause our thoughts are powerful that will lead us to take action. And when you take action on that good thought you then see that it brings in all good. It’s like a mirror if you keep giving bad out to the world it all comes back to you. Putting out a positive action into to the world is what will bring us positivity back and all the good we want. So even when you see someone poor or underprivileged be kind and do not give hate to them.

I remember watching the video by Inanna Sarkis on Youtube called In giving, we receive. I had tears in my eyes after seeing that video. In the video, she shows how when we give out hate and negativity it comes back.

Even the words you use to describe someone are a mirror of who you are. And when we start noticing and responding to good things and good people around us we attract those good people to us.  It is a wonderful video which has over 6 Million views, I will link her video in the show notes.

Your every action matters. Your every action will decide what you will get back in return. Therefore it’s important to be mindful of what you think cause your thinking will lead you to take action.

Whatever it is you want it will all come to you when you become a giver. For that, you should adopt the mindset of abundance. And when you adopt don’t give up that mindset let that mindset of abundance be like your child who grows up but never leaves your side. When we are in the scarcity mindset we think negatively our every action is filled with fear and doubt.

For example, if you dream for this year is to have a fit body then you must give all that it requires to get the result you want, that is you must give time and workout and deliberately eat food that will get you the results. It’s only when you give time and attention to your goals that’s when you will start receiving the benefit of the same.

Not just personal goals but when we apply this to our relationships we will also reap the same benefit there too. Give hate and you get back the same. Be Kind and you will find someone being kind to you in some way or the other. Whatever it is negative or positive it will come back to you in the same force you send it out. As said by the author Rhonda Byrne that it is like a boomerang when thrown, it comes right back to you. Hence you have to choose wisely what you give out. But it’s important that the habit of giving sets in.

There is no limit to how much we can give. And if you think that one day you will get empty and there will be nothing left for you to give, then you are again adopting the mindset of scarcity. See abundance as an infinite cause it is. We can get everything we want we just need to be willing givers. Be it your personal life, professional life, family life, financial life in every area is a reflection of how much you are giving.

And if you are thinking that if it’s that easy then why is it that hard to get what I want. That’s because giving is not an easy act. Not something everyone can do, I don’t want to sound negative here but without the clarity of what we want its hard to practice giving. If you clearly know your goal then you know what you need to keep giving in order to reach your goal. There is a lot of dedication, effort, disciple it takes to get what we want. Some give up on the way but some who keep putting in that effort get to there goals faster.

Being clear will help you set your priorities in line, so you know what matters and what you have to give to achieve that goal. The more you give the more you get.

But apart from this I feel just being kind to people around will also help you see better results in your life. Even if the two that is your goal and your being kind to others have nothing in common yet in many ways, it will help you see positive results in your life. For example, let’s say you are going out for some work but on the way you find someone needy asking for help. If you can help in any way whether you choose to give money, food, etc. If you don’t wish to give anything at-least do not speak rudely. And not necessary it will be a poor person it can be anyone like someone asking to help them find a place or whatever it may be. Always remember whatever you give out to the universe. It’s all coming back to you.

Sometimes we fail to be kind with our very own loved one in the house. We quick up negativity from somewhere and when we get back home we get angry for no reason on our loved ones. Sometimes getting upset on very small things. When you feel your emotions are getting out of control then give some time to yourself sit down and meditate for some time. Meditation for even 5 mins has a drastic impact on an entire day. Its said that the busier you are the more time you should give to meditate.

And yes before being kind to anyone whether outside or with family. Being kind to yourself is crucial. When you love and take care of yourself that’s when you can give the most to others. So fill up your inner well with positivity.

So before I end this episode I would like to remind you that everything you want in life is all there. If you can imagine it, it already exists. Just make sure that you become a giver. To see the results pick up any one area in your life and give time, money, energy or focus anyone of these and you will see that you will start receiving what you wanted. But if you expect to give nothing and expect loads in return that will never happen. If you have given in the past only then shall you receive it, be it now or later, you will surely get back what you gave. So if you find yourself lacking in any area of your life think what you need to give first. Do not wait for others. The action is to be taken by you.

How to successfully achieve goals from your vision board

How to successfully achieve goals from your vision board

Welcome to The Bliss Wish the podcast designed to help you become the best version of yourself. My name is Suchitra Malvankar and I bring to you topics from personal growth, success, productivity, happiness and lifestyle.

Todays topic is on how to successfully achieve goals from your vision board. Vision board is a board that you create with pictures and quotes of your choice specially the ones that resonate with your goals and the future life you desire. If you have done a vision board earlier and if it didn’t workout do not get dishearten because if it is not done the right way you will not get its results. I think that there will be a good number of people who haven’t even given this a try. So for the both that is the ones that have given it up and the ones that haven’t yet given it a try. I going to share the right way of making the vision board and achieving your goals.

Firstly I want to start with having the clarity, of what you want in your life and also when you are planning this keep in mind the time limit you will set for achieving the goals in your vision board. The moment you put a date to anything you want you are more likely to get what you want.

Hence be clear on your goals and get specific while selecting the pictures. But before you start collecting pictures for you vision board, categories your goals according to your career, personal and family goals and then write in a book what are the things you want to achieve under each category. And now since we are using the a timeline for the vision board, our goals should be clear about what all we want from different areas of our life within a year or within six months depending on the time duration you want to select for your goals.

Know that once you know what you want and by when you want it then before you go head and select the relevant pictures for your board ask your self one question that is, why you want to achieve those goals? Your why power is very effective and will help you give that energy and zeal to achieve your goals. Remember that your why power is the biggest motivator that will pull you towards your goals instead of pushing you. So when you are writing your goals on one side of the paper draw a line and write why you want to achieve it on the other side in front of your listed goals. After you are done doing this, closely look at the why’s that are the strongest and select those goals for your vision board and the ones with lower or no why power should be removed from the list and you should not include them in your vision board.

Alright now we are done with the clarity, time and the why of each goals. Now is the time to get started in the process of creating your vision board. Firstly you can choose to do it in traditional way which is the way I prefer. In traditional way you cut the pictures from magazines, newspapers, or by taking a print out of the picture you want and the other way is to make it digitally that is you do the vision board on your computer and then take final print of vision board. Whichever way you choose to make your vision board just remember that its important to have a physical vision board so that you can put it up on place you want. So when you opt for doing it digitally make sure that you take a print out and do not just keep it on your computer. If you think that you aren’t getting enough option from magazines then use Pinterest website, Instagram or Google Images which are in hd quality then take a print out and paste it on your vision board.

Vision Board Example 2

The things you need for creating vision board is a big white thick paper on which you will be pasting your pictures, scissors to cut the pictures into the size and shape you want, glue, tape, and some crafty papers to decorate your board but this is optional.

Okay so now we come to the feeling part which is one of the most important in this process of creating the vision board. When you sit down with all the printouts, magazine cut outs, cut outs from other sources and with all you accessories ready to start. Make sure that you create the best environment around you to lift your mood so you are feeling amazing. The idea here is to feel like you already have all that you are pasting on your vision board therefore while you are pasting each one of the pictures bring in the feeling that youposes all that you want. The joy and love feeling you associate with these pictures will help you achieve the goals faster. You can use music to uplift your mood. You can also use fragrant candles if you like. Basically you can use anything that will uplight your mood while doing the board.

You should also use words or quotes in your vision board as words too are powerful in helping you achieve the goals just like pictures. Use words or quotes that resonates with your dream.

After your board is ready select the right place to put up your board. When I say right place what I mean is that you should place it in such a way that you can see the vision board everyday. This will help keep making your subconscious mind aware about your goals to be achieved.

Vison Board Example

Vision board is the most powerful way of achieving your goals, there are so many people who have achieved a lot with help of vision board. But sometimes your some goals may take longer time to accomplish then the other but don’t be dishearten and don’t give up on the vision board idea. Make the vision board and reap the benefits but while making it make sure you follow the guidance given.

How to deal with negative people and negative circumstances

Welcome to The Bliss Wish the podcast designed to help you become the best version of yourself. My name is Suchitra Malvankar and I bring to you topics from personal growth, success, productivity, happiness and lifestyle. Today’s topic is how to deal with negative people and negative circumstances. We all have dealt with and deal with negative people and negative circumstance in our life. Let’s start with negative people before we move on to negative circumstances.

Starting with my personal experience I was a very sensitive person so even a very minor negative comment use to immediately make me feel bad. So when it comes to big negative and discouraging words I use to take it so much to my heart that for years I would not forget the words told to me. But now I have got much better at dealing with this. I have realised that some people may not say negative things intentionally but some people will purposefully say it to put you down. It’s hard not to react to those words but its even harder not to feel bad by those words. When I don’t react to those negative mean people my heart is boiling from the inside to give them back. But when I react and fight back it all gets even more ugly but it is hard for me to shut up when there is something absolutely nonsense coming from the other side.

I hate it when people get selfish and think of only there good and take the advantage of you, it is important to take action and protect your self-interest. But when it comes to crazy people who just know how to rant negatively then they should be just left alone. You do not have to react to such people it is wise to stay quiet and move out for your own mental peace. It’s a skill to know when to speak up and when to keep silent.

The best way to know this is to quietly observe the person and understand what the person is saying. When you closely observe and listen to the person talking, you will know whether to react or not. Most often we get very defensive and react immediately without understanding what actually the person wants to say. My mother often says that its important to speak up or the person will not know what you want to say or may assume something wrong. But while doing this its important to keep anger at bay. A lot of things can be communicated effectively without losing our temper. Negative words often arouse the feeling of sadness, fear, angry, which pushes you down to a lower frequency,

In the book of Rhonda Byrne called The Power, she has listed good and bad feelings and how when we feel a certain way we attract more of that energy into our lives. In the chapter called feeling frequency, Rhonda Byrne writes about how Love is the highest frequency and we should be on that frequency. fear, sadness, anger keep us feeling low and by being on these frequencies we attract more of similar circumstances.

We have to choose to be on a higher frequency like joy, gratitude, faith and love which is the highest frequency of all. People who talk negatively are on a lower frequency and will also pull you down to there frequency, it’s up to you to recognise that and choose to be consciously away from them. For that matter, negative people can be purposefully avoided but negative circumstance is hard to avoid and walk away. The only way to deal with this is to see the positive in that circumstance. Sometimes that too is difficult cause we are filled with negative feelings at that moment hence we should at least not try to make it worst by cribbing or fighting during that negative situation and take positive and necessary steps to improve that situation.

20180701_165909

It’s important to remember that ego is also a negative energy so when we get caught up in the negative circumstance we shouldn’t let our ego get built up to cause that to will ruin things for us. It’s Important to keep cool and not to take anything personally. When we stop taking everything too personally we can then easily deal with negative` people and circumstances more wisely.

One of the method to keep anger, ego and negative thoughts at bay is by practising meditation. Even a daily practice of meditation will help you feel way calmer, so even if you are surrounded by negative people or negative circumstance you will be able to deal with it a lot more easily and confidently. It’s like a bubble of positive energy around you that you create with help of meditation. For those who haven’t practised mediation ever before should at least start off with 5 mins of meditation daily.

I practice meditation with Boho Beautiful she has her channel on youtube and she is incredible in yoga and meditation. I will leave her link in the show notes. Another way I get rid of negativity is by playing my favourite songs. Music helps me to raise my frequency from negative to a positive one. If music is not your thing then you should do something that gives you joy it’s important to consciously make choice to shift your attention from that negativity. I have made a list of things that give me joy. If you find it difficult to list the things that give you joy then I suggest you watch a video on YouTube by Lavendaire, the name of the video is My Joy List| Things that make me happy. This should help you to discover what you love. Just find a quiet space and a time whether its morning, afternoon, evening or night which is apt according to you and right down the joy list.

It’s important to focus on the things that give you joy and turn away from negative people, do this deliberately and if possible then choose to be away from negative people, eliminate them from your life. You will do good to yourself. It’s also important to feed our minds with positive information, I do not read newspapers cause maximum news is filled with negative information which will do no good to my brain. I remember reading a Brian Tracy book in which he said that if the news is important then you will get informed about it from somewhere or the other, be it from your family members for from someone in your office or friend or your relative or you may even get to know it from a stranger on the street but you will surely get to know it. If it matters to you the news will come to you. You do not have to consume that negative news every-morning from the paper and not even in the digital form cause that will fill your mind with negativity and will affect the way you perform every day. There is a youtuber called fight mediocrity he makes videos on nonfictional books, his videos are truly amazing as much I remember he was the first one to make animated videos to review a book, after him, there are plenty of youtubers who have copied that idea.

His personal examples and stories are an interesting way for understanding the concept and idea of every book. In one of his video called My favourite ideas from the book Mans search for meaning by Victor Frankl he gives his own example and explains the idea in the book, he says how in his childhood he liked a pastry from a cake shop but was unable to buy it as he had no money, he shares how he sold bottles to get cash to buy the pastry and the beautiful joy he experienced while relishing that pastry. He says happiness is not related to what we want or what we desire in the future, it is in the now, if you are not happy now with whatever you have the chances are that you will not be happy when you have more. Its the attitude that needs to be changed. Similarly when we experience negative people or negative circumstance our attitude towards them will define whether we make matters worst or maintain our peace of mind. But if we keep dwelling on the same thoughts even after the person has left and the situation is over then we are only spoiling are mood and like said before if your feeling gets to a lower frequency then you will attract the same kind of negative people and negative circumstances.

To sum up this episode let me mention some Victor Frankl quotes from his book Mans search for meaning which is totally apt for this episodes.

Quote 1: When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.

Quote 2: Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

Quote 3: Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

My First Kindle Book Yoga: For Fat Loss is now available on Amazon

Here are honest reviews about my yoga eBook, for those of you that don’t know, this eBook is just like a regular book where you can download online on Amazon and start reading it seconds after you make the purchase. It is the bible of fitness eBook, with more accurate information than you will find anywhere else. Using this book, you can tailor a workout to your specific body type and goal. There has been a great deal of excitement about this new book and many have wondered how it can help you in your fat loss quest and it’s worth having. This fitness book is different than others, and that is what makes it interesting.

Yoga for fat loss is not an uncommon term now. As it earns worldwide acceptance and recognition, people have been ditching the treadmill and opting for Yoga routines in order to maintain the healthy weight. The best aspect of Yoga is that even the simplest of poses and practices are capable of making your weight loss journey smoother. There are people who have been practising Yoga for a number of years and have never had to worry about weight related issues.3D_V2.jpg

YOGA: FOR FAT LOSS

This eBook will enable you how to melt fat without sweating it out in the gym. Instead of lifting heavy weights and running continuously on the treadmill, you are supposed to be at peace with yourself, calm your mind and practice simple postures. Such is the mystery of Yoga. Moreover, Yoga helps one in maintaining their desired levels of weight and body type. There are no sudden ups and downs to be seen on the weighing scale.

There have been comparative studies where two groups of people started with their weight loss journey simultaneously but the group that practised Yoga fared better than their non-Yoga practising counterparts. The theory behind this is that Yoga enables positive changes in the mind which trickle down to changes in one’s behaviour. When both these things happen, the body automatically becomes more in sync with the mind and soul. It works in a loop until the body’s shape and size are altered.

It’s a well-known fact that stress results in unhealthy diet and “emotional eating”. When you practice Yoga daily, your brain curbs your reaction to stress and you make healthy eating choices. And even when you do eat something unhealthy once in a while, you no longer feel guilty or become upset.

In this eBook, the prime goal of practising Yoga for weight loss tells you to exercise control on the mind and body and quit obsessing about meaningless and worrisome aspects of life. When you become happy and calm on the inside, it starts showing on your body. In fact, a Yoga routine not only helps you consume lesser calories but also ensures that those calories are consumed and stocked up at just the right places, preventing fat accumulation at places where it is not desired. By reducing cortisol levels, Yoga also makes reducing belly fat much easier than regular methods.Facebook Cover Page.png

YOGA: FOR FAT LOSS

Restorative Yoga where a particular Yoga pose is held constant for a longer time (usually on a yoga mat on the floor), has shown to render even more positive results. The key lies in Yoga’s focus on breath and body while increasing mindfulness. Thus, throughout the day your mind is in tune with your body and you eat only when you are truly hungry.

Yogis (persons who practice and teach yoga), it is obvious how well-developed their bodies are. They don’t necessarily bulk up, but you can tell that they have strength and endurance.

Some great Benefits of Yoga

Since the movements and poses in yoga are deliberate and yet slow, they do not strain muscles. Instead, the movements allow for better blood circulation, better stretching of muscles and it helps strengthen the joints. Endurance or the ability to bear the pain for prolonged periods of time is also increased with the consistent practice of yoga.

As the body gains strength, so it also gains endurance. As the mind is able to control its reactions to stresses, so it learns to modify its perception of pain.

What most people do not realize is that yoga is not just an exercise regimen or a workout but the slow and deep breathing is meditative. It allows the person to quiet their mind as they quiet their body by concentrating on breathing slowly and deeply. The first thing you’ll notice is that the slow and deep breaths cleanse and remove the clutter from your mind. You’ll also notice that if you feel agitated, the slow deep breathing of yoga calms you down.

The effect of yoga is cumulative. This means that if you consistently practice yoga even outside of your scheduled yoga classes, the good effects on your mind and your body increase the longer you practice yoga. For instance, when slow and deep breathing becomes a habit, you can see how it helps you relax even in the most tense and intense moments of your work day. The cumulative effect is that your body learns to avoid stress reactions. Stress reactions are the body’s way of preparing us to fight or to flee situations which are perceived to be dangerous and threatening.

This helps you when a barking dog chases you while you are jogging. However, when the stress reaction is prolonged or recurrent as when your body prepares to rush to meet deadlines all day, every day or prepares to “fight” with people who make life difficult for you, you are living with stress. Stress becomes a way of life and it overworks the heart and causes a lot of wear and tear in our organs.

Stress which is chronic or prolonged alters the chemistry in the brain, too. It makes you irritable and it affects your concentration and focus. It increases your vulnerability to diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and coronary artery disease. Yoga, because it helps you relax and neutralize stress, also helps you avoid these lifestyle diseases, as well.

Yoga’s meditative component increases your self-awareness. This means that you become more aware of how you feel and what you are thinking. This makes it easier for you to self-evaluate, reflect and modify your emotional responses to everyday stresses and adversities. When you learn to modify your emotional responses, you also learn to put things in perspective. You’ll find yourself resisting anxious and depressing thoughts. The slow deep breathing which increases blood flow to the brain also helps to lift the mood. You become more positive in your outlook.

Why should I purchase this eBook?

After reading the whole eBook, practice comes next. This practice of mindfulness does not go away when you leave the yoga mat, regular practice makes your body adapt to the new system and affects all the parts of your body. This intense focus makes you pay better attention to your body, and that includes what you eat and in general yield a high level of body awareness. The mind is really what controls everything we do, and yoga can help in this way to change negative behaviours. You should know fully well that yoga is a traditional system of healing for the mind and body. It means union. It is a popular belief that yoga can cleanse your body of toxins and improve muscle tone, as well as help in blood circulation. Yoga was first originated in India, where it still remains a living tradition and is followed as a means to enlightenment. This spiritual practice has been evolving for more than 5,000 years now. In yoga, there are many spiritual and physical exercises that are practised to improve one’s health and well being. It is very beneficial for people suffering from anxiety, arthritis, headache, migraine, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, pregnancy, rheumatoid arthritis, and much more.

Healthy body and happiness:

It is a popular saying that a sound mind could lead to a healthy body. Everybody has the right to be happy. Happiness and peace comes from within. It depends on your thinking and also on your body. Your body’s health and your mind are directly related. Only if you have a healthy body will you be free from any physical pain, and your mind will not be disturbed. Without good health, you cannot be completely at peace. In yoga, various types of meditation are taught, and you are made to concentrate on your inner self. It helps to focus on positive thinking and push all the negative thoughts away. Every disease and sickness are considered nothing more than an imbalance in the natural harmony of the body and mind. Restoring this balance leads to true healing.

Yoga has become very popular worldwide. People are seeking for it, as they realize the importance of self-contentment and inner peace. Be it work pressure or health problems, yoga can help you see through it. Following yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation can relieve you from all pains and troubles. Yoga can also help you to lose weight. It lets you tune in, chill out, and shape up, all at the same time.

Some other beneficiary aspects of yoga are:

  1. Helps to control anxiety
  2. Reduces stress
  3. Improves arthritis, back pain, and osteoporosis
  4. Relieves asthma
  5. Controls blood pressure, diabetes and epilepsy
  6. Combats chronic fatigue and depression
  7. Cures headaches, heart disease and multiple sclerosis
  8. Improves concentration and creativity
  9. Improves blood circulation
  10. Lowers fat
  11. Creates a sense of well being and calm

Choose Process Over Result

The more we desire the more we get distracted and ultimately distributed. I have realised there are many things we like and enjoy and only a few things that we truly love. It was difficult for me for the longest time to know what I love and focus all my attention on it.
We are a society filled with information and pictures which are constantly changing our minds from being this or doing that. The outer voices are way too many to help us choose what we want in life or career. Not that they don’t help us get close to our goal but it’s the inner voice which keeps telling what we should do.

We may get mesmerised by someone’s success or work and wish to be that. But being is not what we should focus on, doing is what we need to. The result is the outcome of the process. Process (doing) is what matters the most. But we often forget the process and fallen love with the results. Rather we should fall in love with the process and truly enjoy it. Results will eventually come but the love of process will keep us going.

Truth or Lie

It’s so easy to lie and it has always been. I thought about writing this article/blog because I am currently reading the book called Lying by Sam Harris. In this book the author talks about how lying will never help you and what are the advantages of telling the truth that will help each one of us if we decide to say the truth every time. Firstly I must truthful agree that I have lied many a times and I am very sure we all do it intentionally or unintentionally. But almost 95% of my lies are said for the betterment of everyone (including myself) or for the well being of everyone. As I am reading the book I am simultaneously practicing and consciously telling myself to speak the truth. In some cases I was able to do it but in other cases I thought its crucial to lie, in such a senario my mind and the reality tells me that lying is the most sensible choice. I have realised that truth will definitely serve me in the long run. But practicing that in some situation gets impossible. I feel the best ways to cope up with such situations is to choose not to speak or react at all. This too may be difficult by atleast it is better than lying.

Discipline = Gain

I have always found the word discipline to be very daunting and boring, that’s how people around me made me feel discipline to be. But in reality discipline is the only way you can achieve your precious desirable goals. Discipline here is in the context of self discipline which is to do something that matters to you and to do that regularly. The best part of being disciplined is that you don’t have to wait for a long time to see the fruits of your disciplined habits. You get to see immediate results even if it is too small, you can feel or see the difference you gained from being disciplined. So if small actions of discipline can contribute to our goals and get us one step closer to our vision than why would we let go of our disciplined habits day after day? Every time you miss out (whether intentional or unintentional) on doing what you decide to do you are letting go of the opportunity to achieving your goal. Discipline should not be associated with words like difficult, boring and mundane. Instead the only way to brain tattoo the meaning of the word DISCIPLINE is with the word GAIN. So next time when you are letting go of your disciplined habit remember you are missing out on a valuable gain that you would achieve and get closer to your goals.
